上海水蜜桃
水蜜桃是桃的变种,属蔷薇科桃属。果实呈球形,表面有茸毛。上海水蜜桃的栽培最早始于明代,传说是由明代著名天文学家徐光启的儿子徐龙兴首先培植的。它具有肉质柔软,皮薄色艳,汁多味甜,香气浓郁,入口易溶等特点,堪称桃中的佳品。上海水蜜桃不但味道鲜美,同时还有药用价值,对于淤血停滞、咳嗽、便秘等症具有一定的疗效。品种除了以前的“红芒”、“白芒”、“簪簪红圆桃”和“鹅毛管印”外,新中国成立后,又嫁接选育出“玉露”、“白花”、“早生”、“凤露”、“雨花露”等新品种。此外,上海水蜜桃还衍生出无锡水蜜桃、奉化水蜜桃等优良品类,并被世界许多国家广为引种,从而发展出更多的新品种,具有很高的经济价值。
Shanghai Juicy Peach
Juicy Peach is a variation of peaches, with round fruit. Shanghai juicy peaches originated in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Legend has it that juicy peaches were first grown by the son of the famous astronomer Xu Guangqi of the Ming Dynasty.
Shanghai juicy peaches feature soft pulp, thin peel, bright red color, luscious juicy and full-bodied fragrance, etc. It is not only tasty, but also has high curative value, especially to cough, gore and coprostasis. Nowadays, some sub-varieties like Wuxi juicy peaches and Fenghua juicy peaches have been developed, and introduced to many countries.
